Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/20/2017

Number: 2

Heard calls and songs from 2 birds. I heard what is described as the true song and the zeeup, whinny, peek, and tut calls.

I think they are just warming up. They have been vocal in the morning, but not so much later in the day. But the unseasonably warm weather we've had this month has everything confused. Crocuses began blooming 2 weeks ago and I've heard frogs singing in the evening this past week. Now that temperatures are heading back down to normal, things may slow down a bit.

Editor's note: We have moved this report to Robin (FIRST Seen) since the robin was "tuning up" as hormone level rise rather than proclaiming territory which is meant to drove off other robins and a prelude to nesting.
