Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/28/2017

Number: 20

though robins are seen here year around and usually in flocks in crab apple trees. today they were singing and mostly on the ground where the snow has melted.

it was definitely not the true song, but very close to the dawn song. it wasn't just one but a fairly loud chorus (mid day) mixed with house finch, cardinal, and starling calls/songs.

we had worms on the surface last week when it got to the upper 50s. the robins were definitely foraging on the ground where the snow had melted (ground is no longer frozen). no RWBs yet, but the grackles are here a little earlier than usual.
