While I am not certain as to when they first emerged, we have tulips sprouting around our house. I’d guess the tulips have been up for at least a week. We also have several daffodil tips that have appeared. In addition, our first crocuses and snowdrops have already started blooming. Granted, they’re not tulips, but I thought I’d include photos of the latter (taken 2/24/2017) as evidence that spring is trying to break through here in central Pennsylvania, despite Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction.
