Milkweed (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/04/2017

Number: 1

I found six native milkweed plants (Asclepias viridis) with this one being the most mature. It is nestled against some wild blackberry flowers. There is an abundance of false garlic flowers (Northoscordum bivalve) and wild blackberry blooms both in our pastures and in ditches on nearby roads ~ both are favorites of monarchs. Really looking forward to their arrival!
