Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/18/2017

Number: 1

Our first adult Monarch was in the (Cajun Prairie) gardens this afternoon. I will search for eggs tomorrow.

March 19: Saw another Monarch today--this one seemed interested in the milkweeds. I have not had time to look closely at them. Cloudless sulphurs are laying eggs on Chamescrista in the gardens. Pearl crescents and Buckeyes are about. No swallowtails yet. Gulf fritillaries are checking out the passionvines.

Eunice, Louisiana is warm--nearly 80 degrees both yesterday and today with 50 degree nights and mostly clear and sunny days.
