When we moved here twelve years ago Monarchs were daily visitors in our back garden. We had no milkweed but there is a large white flowered tree they seemed interested in. Now they are so rare we hadn't seen any Monarchs for the last two or three years. So this sighting two weeks ago (Reported 3/26) was cause for excitement. Made me want to plant some native California milkweed but when I went online to get some seeds or plants the websites either couldn't sell to California because of state restrictions or they were "out of stock!"
