On March 22nd my husband was sure he heard a Broad-tailed male but because he didn't see it we didn't think it right to report.
Finally saw it today! A beautiful Broad-tailed male! One week earlier than last year. Not totally unexpected, our unusually warm weather may be playing a role in this early arrival.
I put feeders out in early March every year - regardless of weather - and get hummingbirds earlier than most local watchers.
"Just rewards", I say.
Now waiting for first female.
