At 4:45pm I went outside and saw a female monarch egg-laying near our driveway. It was around 80 degrees F, sunny, with a light breeze SW 5 mph, and 52% humidity. This is a photo of her laying an egg on a fresh milkweed. After observing her for awhile, I saw another female monarch and followed her as she covered a lot of terrain fluttering and flying looking for just the right milkweed to lay her eggs on. All day as I followed the females, I was glad to see the abundance of new milkweed emerging.
