Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 03/30/2017

Number: 1

stopped on hardy orchid. I was SHOCKED when I saw it, was looking out of my first floor office under the window and saw it on an azalea, it quickly moved to a blooming bletilla striata. It was approx. 4" wide. I called for my husband to verify and before he could it headed east through my woods. I do have milkweed, just checked and no eggs.

We have had off and on coastal winds and storms for the last week and I wonder if it was blown off track.

Could it have been a "released" butterfly? We did have an outdoor wedding nearby a week ago?
