Just one monarch spotted. I'm 99% sure. I have Asclepias incarnata and syriaca emerging and he/she never landed on it but definitely noticed it. I couldn't get close enough to identify male or female but the flight pattern was very monarch-esque. I have yet to see any viceroy in my area. I have a native plant nursery and grow a lot of milkweed so I will keep my eyes open for any eggs. Didn't see any until fall last year. I was very surprised but we have a lot of land around us. Is it possible she overwintered here? With all of the people "growing" monarchs and releasing them into late fall/early winter is it possible? I guess anything is possible these days.
