I was thrilled to see my first monarch of the season in my yard. Could not get close enough for determination of sex. She/He flittered around the yard for about 30 minutes. A few minutes later I lost sight of the monarch and noticed a dragonfly patrolling the yard. My milkweeds are only about 6" tall.
