I'm hiking the trails at Kanopolis. Southerly winds. Have observed 5 monarchs in that time. All pretty worn.

6 more monarchs in the next hour plus 2 mated pairs. Don't think I've seen that in the spring.

3rd hour. 3 more: Getting cloudy. Got 2 more miles to go but this last hour I observed three more. Have not found any milkweed.
