I was walking down my street to observe this newly-planted bush -- I wanted to know what species it was -- and I found this monarch (the third butterfly or colorful moth I'd seen of the afternoon) appreciating the flower buds. I hurried back to my house to get the camera, and fortunately, the monarch loved the flowers enough to stick around. I asked my friend Delbert Andre Green who studies monarchs at the University of Chicago where to report the siting, and he referred me here.
