After a 10am trip to the post office 3 miles away (on which I saw a monarch flying) I went about checking milkweed in our pastures. By 10:20 it was sunny, 71 degrees F, winds S 12mph, with humidity 64%. This is a photo of a beautiful female monarch nectaring on a Texas dandelion in between egg-laying. Over the course of about 1 1/2 hours this morning, I saw 9 monarchs variously resting, sunning, nectaring, egg-laying, and flying.
