I went out from about 11:15am to 12 noon. It was a lovely partly cloudy day, 76 degrees F, with winds S 13mph, and 61% humidity. I saw 7 individual monarchs including males patrolling, a mating pair flying, nectaring, and egg-laying. This is a photo of a delightful female monarch who I observed exploring all sorts of plants, including milkweed and flowers. Here she is nectaring from a Lyre-leaf sage (Salvia lyrata). She has very fresh-looking wings and her behavior seemed youthful and curious. Could she be of the next generation?
