I've watched a male Broad-tailed for several days over the last week and earlier this week we were flooded with 90% male Rubies (at least 10) possibly one female. There has been much fighting and full contact behavior at the feeders. We have added several more around the house. We sat and watched this morning as several dogfight style chases erupted right in front of our position on the west side of the house. I attribute some of this high influx of hummers to the fact that a neighbor 400 yards away has moved and all their feeders are gone.
