I counted 30+ eggs on these stems of emerging swamp milkweed. Also counted 25+ eggs on numerous emerging stems of swamp and common milkweed in our adjacent Waystation garden. We've had a faded female in our gardens for the past 3 days. I've purchased 12 quart-size native swamp milkweed plants at a local nursery and she has also laid 28 eggs on those. So in 3 days she has blessed our gardens with over 80 eggs! What a great way to start Spring. We will make sure the emerging caterpillars have plenty of food, even if we have to keep buying nursery stock!
