Along West Bijou Creek in Arapahoe County Colorado. Feeding on emerging plants in the creek bed.

We are certain it was a Monarch. We did not see that black line to make it a viceroy. We also saw a painted lady, much, much smaller. Sadly, we did not see milkweed yet in the area.
