Sighted in back yard around 2:30 pm. My milkweed in my garden is up about 5 inches. Our weather here in Newton Iowa has been warmer then normal. 72 degrees and sunny today, it rained two days ago. The Monarch looked faded to me, not bright, it looks bright in the picture but was not. It took some running but I got a few pictures yesterday after Easter dinner. My sister saw a monarch butterfly in her yard a few days before this one.
