Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 04/13/2017

Number: 1

It has been an interesting year. We very noticeably saw more than normal numbers sail thru here quite quickly....and it sounds like that pace continued on north. They were in surprisingly good shape too....faded...but not damaged.

We are beginning to see the more challenged Monarchs now. Just today an extremely faded Monarch was leaving eggs on native milkweed at various homes down our street. We live in a rural subdivision south of Austin and the milkweed is very abundant. For us....usually no more than 1 egg per plant....2 at the most. We are probably just a few days away from some 1st Gen Monarchs in our area.
