Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/16/2017

Number: 1

I saw the monarch on Easter Sunday. I was shocked to see it so early in the spring. It was about 83° that day. No milkweed yet in our area. I did plant some last year and ended up with 21 monarchs by the end of the summer. We landscaped our yard (we were destroyed by Super Storm Sandy) summer 2016 and I planted native NJ plants for the butterflies & bees. We don't use any pesticides and only natural lawn care. I'm looking forward to doing an official monarch count this summer.
