I've lived in this location for 4 years and this is the first time I've seen a Monarch in early spring. I usually don't see them until the end of summer. But I don't think there's any milkweed growing yet. Redbud trees are in full bloom and spring ephemerals are blooming, but not any milkweed sprouts yet.
