Lake Zumbro
"The ice went out on Feb. 22, according to the Minnesota DNR. While you wouldn't want to go water-skiing today, a lot of lakehome owners out there are eager to get their boats in the water.
Typically the ice-out date on Lake Zumbro is March 30, though the DNR's records only go back to 1997. Long-timers like the elderly angler cited above probably remember when the ice typically went out in mid-April, before climate change kicked in.
This year was by far the earliest ice-out date in the 20 years of DNR records. The second earliest was March 6, 2000."
