Joe's Pond

"The clock stopped today, Sunday, April 23, 2017, at 4:32 p.m.! The ice got very dark today and as has happened before, the flag tipped precariously and then while Diane had her back turned doing yard work, it went down."

ed. note: the Joe's Pond Association holds an annual contest to guess the time and date when a cinder block placed on the ice falls through the melting ice. The block has a flag and is tethered to a clock onshore, when the block and flag fall through the ice the clock stops.
