My mom planted a bunch of milkweed a few summers ago in our church garden in Kansas City, MO and she says she has about 50 little monarch caterpillars on the leaves. Plants are only about 12-14" tall.

I've been looking on other milkweed I see (on the grounds here at EPA in Lenexa, KS and also my land out in Henry County, Missouri) and I haven't seen any eggs or larvae like we see at the church garden.
