I saw a faded Monarch in the yard. My milkweed, next to the South side of the house is up as much as 5 inches. Some plants are up 2 inches. The Monarch found the milkweed and laid about 50 eggs! The eggs are not only all over some of the leaves, but up and down the stem!
The milkweed in the garden, and more exposed is not up yet.
