Mirror Lake in Lake Placid

"As reported by ice meister Jack Irvin, the Mirror Lake ice went out at 4:25 p.m. on Sunday, April 16."
"Records for the ice out on Mirror Lake were originally kept by Forrest B. Guild in 1903 and are the longest records of ice breaking in New York state. Former town/village Historian Mary MacKenzie sent the date to State University of New York in Buffalo where Professor Stewart conducted studies in climatic changes. Recently, Chris Beattie has been sending the ice out date to Paul Smith's College professor Curt Stager, who studies climatic changes.

The range for Mirror Lake is March 23 in 2012 to May 13 in 1971."
