Getting out of my car after work I heard the tweet of a hummer but did not see one when I looked. After dinner I spotted an exhausted male just sitting on the backyard feeder and occasionally taking a drink of the sugar water. Later in the evening I spotted a male at the front yard feeder. I thought it was the same fellow until WHOOSH... along swooped in another male chasing away the first. Now the exciting wait for the first female to arrive and the delightful season of watching the growing families to begin!
