Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/30/2017

Number: 1

Had a cold front come in. Male w at tray feeder for his suet & taking his "spa-baths". Having to wait his turn for the suet. I can really see the "pecking order" with the suet. Woodpecker's first, White-wing doves that I chase away, Bluejays, Mockingbirds, Cardinals & then Downey's, Titmouse & Chickadee's are less aggressive. But he did fight a male Cardinal on the ground over some suet that I put there. I am sure if I had mealworms they would have gobbled them up. I think all the birds know when I am putting the suet out as they rush in to get it. The Robin's nest is just over our fence so I think that is why he is usu. first until aggressive birds come to feeder to run him off. 47 degree's last night & 50's today with a lot of wind. Suppose to be a repeat 2morrow. Female must have been sitting on her nest 2day.
