WE BLOOMED! Spring has OFFICIALLY arrived in Salem, NH! Weather extremes did a job on our Tulip Test Garden. We observed 4cm growth in 24 hours on 80*F days, while on 40*F days we observed less than 1cm of growth in 24 hours for our Tulips. Unfortunately, we were all on vacation while the Test Garden, back at school, peaked with full bloom. Most flowers have hung on, but some are already dropping petals. The beginning of May has brought more inconsistent weather with cold and rain. :( Our blooms are locked shut in this picture... These Tulips are very special to us, and we're looking forward to reading our time capsule letters that we wrote back in the fall.
