After teaching at Abington Friends School for 17 years and never seeing milkweed, despite scattering seeds every fall, we came out to find almost a thousand milk weed plants! What was the difference? A newly planted rain garden and the removal of thistle and perhaps just the right weather conditions allowed the seeds to germinate and grow. We look forward to many Monarchs in our future!
