Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 05/07/2017

Number: 2

On April 15 I reported 7 Monarch eggs on one stalk of milkweed. I was concerned that there would not be enough milkweed to feed 7 caterpillars. Speed forward to May 7, and we have 16 stalks of milkweed and 2 caterpillars large enough to photograph. They are growing each day (see picture). I have the plant surrounded with mesh wire to protect the milkweed and caterpillars from rabbits and raccoons.
