At around 1030am I saw 4 monarchs: one flying, one nectaring on a Texas dandelion, and two faded-winged males patrolling and having small arial fights with each other. It was a lovely morning, partly cloudy, 71 degrees F, humidity 79%, and wind SE 8mph.
A bit later, around 12:30pm I saw a male nectaring on a yellow thistle and in another area 2 males were flying and lightly sparring with each other now and then. This is a photo of one of the males briefly resting in the grass.
