First Sightings of the 2017 Spring Season
On Friday April 28 around 6:25 am I peered out my kitchen window and caught a glimpse of a male just leaving my 3rd feeder. He flew straight to the butterfly bush (no flowers yet), buzzed around and then went on his way (north).
Then about 5-10 minutes later, another male came and visited multiple times hitting the first and second feeders in the backyard. He looked beautiful and was healthy I even got a chance to see him up close when leaving for work. When he did finally fly away, he headed south. Not typical for a migrant. Maybe it's an early male resident staking out his grounds. We just have to wait and see.
Very exciting. 2 males and I'm so happy they are back!!! 😊
