Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 05/13/2017

Number: 1

Actually saw the Orchard Oriole first, then a bit later the Baltimore came to the jelly dish. They are feeding on the crabapple tree and other trees that are blooming in the area and I haven't seen them back at the jelly for a while.

I have been watching your maps daily for some time. Interesting. First the Orioles and the hummers all stalled out near St.Louis with that nasty low pressure system. Then they got up to the SD border and sat a while. Too cold up here for them. They made their move to the very eastern side of SD and parked there because they didn't want to fly over the Coteau Hills to our area because we were still getting areas with freezing or close to it temps. Then came the warm stuff and so did they! Fun watching all this.
