Robin (Nesting Behavior)

Date: 05/03/2017

Number: 2

WE have been watching a pair of Robins with their nest. They built the nest on the down spout elbow of our gutter under the roof eave near our sliding glass door. One broken egg and a dead baby were found yesterday morning. However, the mother is still sitting on the nest. At times, she does fly out and the father also flies in. It looked like he was either cleaning the nest or feeding the babies just a bit ago. We can watch them while sitting in our chairs in the family room. What a special opportunity! We were very upset about the dead bird, but we are not sure how this happened.
