Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/14/2017

Number: 1

One adult flying north to south around the Driskill's grocery store and by the library at high speed about single story roof high. Unable to pinpoint male or female. So early! :)

It was bright, definitely not a Gen Zero.

It made a beeline for an exterior flower sale stand around the entrance to the grocery store to nectar on the blooms
there , another witness said a few hours later, who is also a butterfly gardener. We ran into each other shopping
and because of the time seen for both of us, we feel we saw the same butterfly from different angles.

In my Monarch Waystation #11040, which was three blocks away and south from this sighting location,
My swamp milkweed is three inches high with five stalks, my common milkweed is four inches high as second year plants, three branches about two inches long on each plant.

No eggs are evident on anything I've checked wild or in my garden or pots.
