Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/17/2017

Number: 1

Our 2nd grade LMC/REACH class went out to listen to the spring peepers. It was cloudy so we didn't hear them. We decided to observe and listen to the birds. We were by the pond near our school. We were watching a turtle swimming when two students yelled "butterfly" and other yelled "Monarch Butterfly"! It stopped on a milkweed plant for a bit and then moved on. We plan to go back after school and see if we can find an egg. How exciting!
