I have NEVER seen an adult Monarch in the month of May while living up here in Simsbury CT. It appeared to be patrolling the yard as it bypassed several milkweed plants. I usually see them starting in early July. Since my property is partially shaded I seldom see them at all in the yard. The last few days we were in a heat wave. Maybe that helped?
