2nd of season At around 2 pm when in car leaving Kopegaron Conservation Area just west of Wheatley, Ontario, observed a fresh very bright orange monarch about 8' up from road follow road & disappear into woods. I jumped out of vehicle to track down but could not.
We had also just observed our 3rd of the day Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, the latter nectaring on honeysuckle. There are many spring flowers in bloom.
Today reached a high of 22°c/70f with light sw winds.
