Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 05/22/2017

Number: 2

Near noon I released two monarch butterflies. I brought caterpillars in that were on milkweed in our yard because mockingbirds and other birds were constantly in the butterfly garden and I expected the birds to eat the caterpillars. At least one was a female. I was not able to get in position to determine the sex of one of them.. I released them near a butterfly garden in our yard and later I discovered that two were nectering in the butterfly garden
