Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/22/2017

Number: 1

A regal visitor on a regal holiday; so appropriate! It was Victoria Day in Canada, the day we honour our former monarch, Queen Victoria's birthday and we had our first Monarch visit us! Beautiful, sunny afternoon, approximately 20C, southwest wind. It flew straight through the back yard in a northerly direction headed for the milkweed patch. Alas, I do not think that it stopped. Nectar sources available: Buttercup, Wild Strawberry, Daisy and Dandelion. This, I believe is the earliest I have seen a Monarch.
