Hummingbird, Other Species Sighted

Date: 05/23/2017

Number: 2

Got home late 2nite at 8pm. As I was checking potted flowers & seedlings 4 any needed watering I was thinking that I missed opportunity 2 c any hummingbirds feed 2nite. As I went from plant to plant low-and-behold a single Black-chinned male came 2 feed. He w taking his time doing his late fill-up feeding when another male BC came & chased him away from their favorite feeder. I don't know which male came back 2 feed but they continued 2 do this activity until 8:39pm. Almost dark. I think this is the latest time I have seen them feed. So glad I went outside. I could tell they were BC males by the throat markings (as males verses females)and also by the "whirl-wind" wing sound of the BC species. It is so very different than our Rubies. When I hear it I know that it is time 2 look up & around very slowly as ours in Texas are "skittish" & afraid. :-)
