Virginia Living Museum [AKA Monarch Waystation #299] Horticulture staff members reported to me that they found a monarch butterfly emerging from its chrysalis on this date between the behind-the-scenes greenhouse and storage buildings on museum grounds! We'd thought all the caterpillars had disappeared into the food web, but at least one made it to adulthood! Hooray!
