Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 06/08/2017

Number: 1

Unfortunately no photo due to moving up on it too quickly but it had landed on a large white fragrant bush. It was beautiful healthy specimen. i know my butterflies and at first thought it may be a fritillary because of it's size. There are milkweed plants there but not a lot that I have seen. I photographed a milkweed plant down by the Columbia River a few years ago but that plant was destroyed when someone decided to do some weed whacking.
I'm going to look again for milkweed there AND of course Monarchs.
The last time I saw a Monarch was in the 80's if then. this was a real thrill.
