Saw my first monarch of the year in my butterfly garden 2:45pm. It spent about 20 minutes nectaring and touching down on common milkweed I didn't find any eggs. Milkweed isn't blooming yet but it has lots of buds.
This sighting is 1 month earlier than last year.
