While volunteering at Virginia Living Museum [AKA Monarch Waystation #299], I saw a male monarch in a patch of Common and Purple Milkweeds on museum grounds. A chilly morning, he spent most of his time basking and nectaring instead of fighting the breezes to "cruise for chicks."
