Sightings report image

Date: 06/12/2017

Number: 2

Today at 5:46 pm I observed a male near our very fragrant wisteria blossoms. He didn't appear to nectar but patrolled our property, cruising around all over. I lost sight of him at rear of house.
5 minutes later I observed this female land on milkweed at front of house. She did not appear to be laying eggs & a short time later none were found. She left the milkweed flitting south. Along came Mr. from the south...they met in front of our magnolia tree & the rest is history.
He took her to the ground then up into the magnolia tree.
They are now spending the night in a mesh pop-up in The Monarch Hale. Once detached he shall be released & after she hopefully lays eggs she shall be released. 'Tis the season :)
It has been hot & humid 30°c & mostly sunny. Today with light SW wind.
