Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 06/16/2017

Number: 1

Not only have I seen several healthy young looking adult monarchs in the past few weeks, but yesterday I spotted this caterpillar in my back garden. I'd say it's a little more than an inch long today and eating like a champ. I've also spotted what I believe are 5-6 eggs on other plants. This is very early for so much monarch activity here, and the first time I've had a caterpillar in my yard. I started growing some milkweed about three years ago.
