A Female Monarch, somewhat tattered, spent 3 hours with us on June 17, in Newbury, MA. She flew very close to us, landing on our tall Milkweed Plants. Our Butterfly Bushes aren't flowering yet; not many flowers around yet at all. Ms. Monarch put her Proboscis into the buds on our Milkweed; tried unsuccessfully to get nectar! She is the first Monarch I have seen this Spring.
